IEI Launches 30-inch 4MP Dual-Display Color Medical Monitor

Taipei, Taiwan, 18 July 2008 – IEI Technology Corp. today launch their latest 30" 4MP color PACSMate™ medical monitor, the MMD-4300C. The widescreen MMD-4300C is the first 30-bit deep color medical monitor with both single (4MP) and dual (2MP) view display options. The MMD-4300C received the "Taiwan Best 2008" award, the highest product accolade in Taiwan and is only awarded to innovative and high-quality products.

Remote management of the VESA DDC/CI compliant MMD-4300C is enabled through a DVI cable connection between the MMD-4300C and a PC integrated into a hospital’s wider network. Remote management of the MMD-4300C reduces maintenance costs as technicians can easily control and adjust the power mode, backlight luminance and color temperature from a central location. IEI also provides software OSD customization services with a command library and customer defined MSSC command programming support for easier software development.

HDMI™ 1.3 Support with GrayEasy® 30-bit Deep Color Technology

Support for both HDMI™ 1.3 and DVI differentiates the MMD-4300C from the typical DVI-only 30-bit Deep Color monitors. HDMI™ 1.3 is a next-generation technology that will in the future require mainstream medical monitors to be upgraded. The GrayEasy® support for HDMI™ 1.3 on the MMD-4300C ensures the MMD-4300C will remain relevant and will not need to be replaced when the latest technologies become more dominant in the future market place.

Multiple Viewing Modes & Color to Grayscale Technology

The MMD-4300C can display both color and grayscale images. The MMD-4300C screen can be segmented into two segments with one segment showing a color image and the other segment a grayscale image. When the screen is not segmented, the screen resolution is 4MP. When the screen is divided into two segments the screen resolution is 2MP.

Doctors can view parallel images simultaneously on a single MMD-4300C by dividing the screen into two segments. One segment could display a high-resolution color image of a patient and the other segment the equivalent grayscale image. Alternatively, two images taken at different times can be viewed simultaneously enabling easier comparisons of a condition at two different times.

User adjustable gamma and color temperature settings ensure doctors can actively alter the settings of the MMD-4300C to ensure all images are clear. Gamma settings of 1.8, 2.0 or 2.2 and color temperature settings of 6500K or 9300K can be set by the user.
